Julie Silver, MSW, Dipl. Ac. Julie Silver, MSW, Dipl. Ac. is president and founder of Acupuncture Healthcare Associates of Michigan, Inc. Julie is a NCCAOM board Certified Acupuncturist with a degree from the Midwest College of Oriental Medicine in Chicago, Illinois. Julie is very active in several professional organizations, including the American Study for Reproductive Medicine, RESOLVE, The American Association of Oriental Medicine, and is the past Vice President of the Michigan Association of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. In addition, Julie was elected to the Board of Directors of the Hebrew Free Loan Association.
Along with other modalities, Julie specializes in combining Traditional Chinese Medicine along with Assisted Reproductive Medicine. She has trained under Dr. Randine Lewis (author of The Infertility Cure) and Jane Lyttleton (author of Treating Infertility with Traditional Chinese Medicine) with special emphasis on combining Acupuncture with Assisted Reproductive Technology.
In her practice she works with a variety of Traditional Chinese Medicine techniques, using acupuncture and Chinese herbs as the foundation. She also supplements acupuncture with massage, gua sha, moxabustion, cupping and electro-acupuncture. In addition, she works with clients to make lifestyle changes that will improve their overall health; consulting such issues as nutrition and detoxification, exercise and physical health and wellness, as well as psychological and emotional well being.
When she’s not creating well-balance and holistic treatments for her patients, Julie is an avid yoga practitioner. She loves the outdoors and can be found power-walking through quaint neighborhoods in metro Detroit with her dog, Oscar; or hiking through the West Bloomfield, Mich. Nature preserve trails. She enjoys traveling and taking several road trips a year to visit her friends in Chicago, as well as spending quality time with her nieces and nephew.

Monica Mae Leibson, Dipl. Ac. Monica Mae Leibson earned her Masters degree at the Santa Barbara College of Oriental Medicine (SBCOM), and is a NCCAOM Board Certified Acupuncturist. Monica has been trained in the treatment of physical and musculoskeletal injuries, working with alcohol and drug detoxification, as well as working with hospice patients. She has received extensive training in Chinese herbs, physical medicine and anatomy and physiology. |
Monica has also obtained specialized training in Chinese Medicine and Infertility, studying under both Dr. Randine Lewis (author of The Infertility Cure) and Jane Lyttleton (author of Treating Infertility with Traditional Chinese Medicine). Monica and her infertility practice focuses on integrating Traditional Chinese Medicine with Reproductive Medicine.
Monica’s concentration on pregnancy aims at education & supporting a woman’s natural body processes during pregnancy.
Monica is a member of the Michigan Association of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine and uses Chinese Medicine to empower her clients to access their physical, emotional, and spiritual power. Monica combines her art of healing to express the divine creativity within all of us. When she’s not assisting patients in their healing, Monica spends her time singing, dancing, and painting.

Julie Shindler-Cohen, MSTOM, Dipl. Ac., Dipl. C.H We are very excited to welcome Julie Shindler-Cohen to our practice. Julie earned her undergraduate degree in Cellular and Molecular Biology from University of Michigan and her Master’s degree from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in Chicago. She is NCCAOM board certified in both Acupuncture and Chinese Herbology. |
Julie first became interested in Chinese medicine when a close family member became ill and found true relief with acupuncture and Chinese Medicine. She pursued her education in Chicago and interned with several Chinese herbalists and acupuncturists.
Julie recently traveled to China to complete an internship at the Zhejiang University teaching hospital in Hangzhou, China. She is passionate about using her training to improve the health and quality of life of her patients.
In her free time, Julie enjoys yoga, dance, travel, reading and spending time with her family. Julie is very excited to be joining Acupuncture Healthcare Associates of Michigan and we are just as excited to have her on board.

Jen Green, ND, Naturopathic Doctor Dr. Jen Green specializes in pediatrics, women’s health and cancer care. She is a graduate of The Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine. Dr. Green ran a holistic health center in Toronto before moving to Michigan, as well as having worked at a Toronto-based HIV Clinic. more... |
In addition, she helped to initiate a breast cancer program at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine. Dr. Green’s publications include chapters in the book, My Breasts, My Choice, as well as articles in the Journal of Complementary and Integrative Medicine and Townsend Letters. She has done research with Sick Kids Hospital in Toronto and was a co-investigator for a trial on Essiac in breast cancer.
Dr. Green is a member of the Michigan Association of Naturopathic Physicians and is a licensed Naturopathic Doctor in Ontario and New Hampshire. She sits on the steering committee for the Canadian Pediatric Complementary and Alternative Medicine Network. In 2000, She was given the Integrated Women’s Health Award for her clinical excellence in the treatment of women’s health.
A passionate environmentalist, Dr. Green believes that human health and the health of our planet are one, and that we owe it to future generations to preserve our earth, air and water. She helps to run the Environmental Committee at Temple Israel. Her favorite things in life include spending time with her husband and two year old daughter, organic gardening, cooking, kayaking, DJ'ing and dancing.
