Julie Silver, MSW, Dipl. Ac. Board Certified Acupuncturist
Julie Silver is the President and Founder of Acupuncture Healthcare Associates of Michigan, Inc.
Ms. Silver is a NCCAOM Board Certified Acupuncturist with a degree from the Midwest College of Oriental Medicine in Chicago, Illinois. In addition, she has an M.S.W. from Wayne State University.
Ms. Silver is very active in several professional organizations, including the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, RESOLVE (National Infertility Organization), and the American Association of Oriental Medicine. She is the Vice President of the Michigan Association of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. In addition, Ms. Silver was recently elected to the board of directors of the Hebrew Free Loan Association.
Ms. Silver specializes in combining Traditional Chinese Medicine along with Assisted Reproductive Medicine. She has trained under Dr. Randine Lewis (author of The Infertility Cure) and Jane Lyttleton (author of Treating Infertility with Traditional Chinese Medicine).
When she’s not creating well-balance and holistic treatments for her patients, Ms. Silver is an avid yoga practitioner. She loves outdoor sports and can usually be found power-walking through quaint neighborhoods in metro Detroit with her Shepard-mix dog, Oscar; or hiking through the West Bloomfield, Mich. Nature preserve trails. She enjoys travel and taking several road trips a year to visit her friends in Chicago as well as spending quality time with her nieces and nephew.
Monica Mae Klemmer, Dipl. Ac. Board Certified AcupuncturistMonica Mae Klemmer earned her master’s degree at the Santa Barbara College of Oriental Medicine (SBCOM). and is a NCCAOM Board Certified Acupuncturist. She has several areas of expertise, having been trained in the treatment of physical and musculoskeletal injuries, working with alcohol and drug detoxification, as well as working with hospice patients. She has received extensive training in Chinese herbs, physical medicine and anatomy and physiology.
Ms. Klemmer has also obtained specialized training in Chinese medicine and Infertility, studying under both Dr. Randine Lewis (author of The Infertility Cure) and Jane Lyttleton (author of The Treatment of Infertility with Chinese Medicine). In her infertility practice, Ms. Klemmer focuses on integrating Traditional Chinese Medicine with Reproductive Medicine.
Ms. Klemmer is a member of the Michigan Association of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine and uses Chinese medicine to empower her clients to access their physical, emotional and spiritual power.
Ms. Klemmer combines her love of art and healing to express the divine creativity within all of us. When she’s not assisting patients in their healing, Ms. Klemmer can be seen on stage, as the lead singer of a Motown funk band; behind a canvas, painting with acrylics; or planning her wedding, slated for the fall of 2008.
Jen Green, ND, Naturopathic DoctorDr. Jen Green specializes in pediatrics, women’s health and cancer care. She is a graduate of The Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine. Dr. Green ran a holistic health center in Toronto before moving to Michigan, as well as having worked at a Toronto-based HIV Clinic. In addition, she helped to initiate a breast cancer program at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine. Dr. Green’s publications include chapters in the book, My Breasts, My Choice, as well as articles in the Journal of Complementary and Integrative Medicine and Townsend Letters. She has done research with Sick Kids Hospital in Toronto and was a co-investigator for a trial on Essiac in breast cancer.
Dr. Green is a member of the Michigan Association of Naturopathic Physicians and is a licensed Naturopathic Doctor in Ontario and New Hampshire. She sits on the steering committee for the Canadian Pediatric Complementary and Alternative Medicine Network. In 2000, She was given the Integrated Women’s Health Award for her clinical excellence in the treatment of women’s health.
A passionate environmentalist, Dr. Green believes that human health and the health of our planet are one, and that we owe it to future generations to preserve our earth, air and water. She helps to run the Environmental Committee at Temple Israel. Her favorite things in life include spending time with her husband and two year old daughter, organic gardening, cooking, kayaking, DJ'ing and dancing.
Hallie Armstrong, N.D. Naturopathic DoctorDr. Hallie Armstrong has had a passion for natural medicine since a very young age. She has a dedication for seeking balance in life and believes this is the true path to health. Dr Armstrong earned her bachelors degree from Michigan State University and graduated from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine, one of six accredited medical schools in North America offering a four-year formal studies in Naturopathic Medicine. Dr. Armstrong is a Naturopathic Doctor with the sole interest in helping others heal themselves. Her approach to health care is very holistic. In her studies she has worked with a diverse patient base, treating a multitude of physical and mental ailments. She worked in two inner city clinics in Toronto focusing on patients in the homeless and low-income populations. Beyond her training at CCNM, Dr. Armstrong is a certified WTS practitioner focusing on disorders of the Adrenals and Thyroid. She has taken additional courses in homeopathy studying with world-renowned homeopaths Rajan Sankaran and Divia Chabra. In addition, Dr. Armstrong has a special interest in both Women’s Health and Pediatric care.
In addition to formal studies, Dr. Armstrong has been involved within her community by volunteering at the Salvation Army, the Baldwin Soup Kitchen and various community events. She enjoys traveling and besides visiting the US and Canada, has been to Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, India, France, and Iceland.

Lisa WhitenerMs. Whitener is a graduate of Oakland University, with a B.A. in psychology and an M.B.A. in human resources. Her passion lies with pregnancy and childbirth issues. She has devoted the last seven years to providing childbirth education to women and couples in the metro Detroit area. She has also enjoyed working as a professional labor doula and is currently pursuing the D.O.N.A (Doulas of North America) postpartum certification so that she can better support mothers, babies and families during those critical weeks beyond childbirth.
Ms. Whitener believes that the foundation to any healthy and satisfying pregnancy and birth is the combination of proactive wellness and informed choice. Originally trained in the Bradley Method, she is proud to announce that she has recently become the first certified BabyBodyBirth (BBB) educator in Michigan. She teaches her Baby Body Birth classes at Acupuncture Healthcare Associates of Michigan.
