JULIE SILVER, MSW, L.Ac.
Julie Silver is the proud president and founder of Michigan Associates of Acupuncture and Integrative Medicine, Inc. Currently, Julie is an NCCAOM board-certified acupuncturist who earned her degree from the Midwest College of Oriental Medicine in Chicago, Illinois. In addition to her medical training, she holds a Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW) from Wayne State University.
Julie previously served as the vice president of the Michigan Association of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. Furthermore, she is a former board member of the Hebrew Free Loan of Detroit.
MONICA MAE LEIBSON, Dipl. Ac. L.Ac.
Monica Mae Leibson earned her Master’s degree at the Santa Barbara College of Oriental Medicine (SBCOM). Currently, she is fully recognized as an NCCAOM board-certified acupuncturist. Throughout her career, Monica has been extensively trained in the treatment of physical and musculoskeletal injuries. In addition, she has valuable experience working with alcohol and drug detoxification programs, as well as providing compassionate care to hospice patients.
She received deep training in Chinese herbs, physical medicine, anatomy, and physiology. To better support her clients, Monica also obtained specialized training in Chinese medicine and infertility. Specifically, she studied directly under both Dr. Randine Lewis, the author of The Infertility Cure, and Jane Lyttleton, the author of Treating Infertility with Traditional Chinese Medicine.
JULIE SHINDLER-COHEN, Dipl. OM, FABORM, L.Ac.H
Julie has degree from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in Chicago. She is NCCAOM board certified in both Acupuncture and Chinese Herbology. Julie completed an internship at the Zhejiang University teaching hospital in Hangzhou, China where she worked alongside very knowledgeable and experienced TCM practitioners. Julie is a member of the Michigan Association of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine is the only Acupuncturist in Michigan certified by the ABORM (American Board of Oriental Reproductive Medicine).
KAREN SIEGEL PROPIS, MSOM, MPH, L.Ac., Dipl. CH, RD
Karen Siegel Propis earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Human Nutrition & Dietetics from the University of Vermont. Afterward, she successfully completed her clinical internship at the University of Texas in Houston. To expand her expertise, she received a Master’s in Public Health degree from the University of Texas School of Public Health. Furthermore, she earned her Master’s degree in Oriental Medicine from the American College of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in Houston.
Karen was the original founder and owner of the Acupuncture and Nutrition Clinic in Houston, Texas. Consequently, she successfully managed her private practice there for over fifteen years, specializing in acupuncture, herbal medicine, and clinical nutrition.
Dr. Alex Mladenovic, D.Ac, L.Ac
Dr. Alex is an NCCAOM board-certified and licensed acupuncturist in the state of Michigan. Because she possesses a strong medical background, she successfully earned her Doctor of Acupuncture (DAc) degree from the Pacific College of Health and Science in Chicago, Illinois.
Initially, Dr. Alex began her professional career as a general dentist after earning her dental degree from the University of Medicine in Niš, Serbia. By working for over a decade in fast-paced, well-regarded dental clinics, she developed a deep, permanent commitment to patient care and holistic wellness.
